HRMS Launched To Assist Government School Teachers

Punjab Information Technology Board have launched a Human Resource Management System in collaboration with the School Education Department to help government school teachers in the task of promotions, transfer and inquiries

A Human Resources Management System (HRMS) is a software application that combines many human resources functions, including benefits administration, payroll, recruiting and training, and performance analysis and review into one package. HRMS is a database – and – application software to carry out personnel transaction of government employees online through Internet. This aims to be the primary vehicle of transactions of government employees. HRMS is the repository of all the service records of the employees of any government. As a way to make the tasks of government school teachers easier, the Punjab Information Technology Board have decided to launch the HRMS to this sector.

The PITB have worked on this project alongside the School Education Department. The main purpose of this program is to make the tasks of promotions, transfer, inquiries and dismissals of government school teachers easier. HRMS have tasked 386,000 school teachers and 4,000 supervisory staff to upload their complete data on the HRMS portal that will allow the school education department to have access to teachers’ profile through a specified tab and will also help them in vital decision making, promotions with their convenience in mind.

The system was launched by Captain Muhammad Mahmood and Azfar Manzoor who work as the head of the Secretary Education Department (SED) in Punjab and Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board respectively.

Muhammad Mahmood was noted to have said that the HRMS will help the department in automating processes and provides remote access to every employee. Moreover, this will assist in employee self-service by providing a time efficient system. He also praised the efforts of PITB for working on this initiative and trying to implement an automation system for government departments. At the launch of the system, they have also given information on the application, portal and how the system can be used through a demonstration. The upload option is given to the government school teachers and the last date of uploading the data is 10th of August, 2019. Later, the data will be validated and sent for further process of assessing and execution.
