WhatsApp has announced several new features aimed at improving flexibility, device switching, and messaging intelligence. The update includes the ability to use two accounts on the same iPhone, expanded chat transfer options across platforms, improved file management tools, and new AI powered capabilities. These enhancements are designed to streamline how users manage conversations, switch devices, and interact within chats while maintaining privacy and convenience.

One of the most notable additions allows users to run two different WhatsApp accounts on a single iPhone, a capability that was previously available only on Android devices. With this update, users can switch between accounts directly within the app, making it easier to separate personal and professional conversations. WhatsApp displays the profile picture in the bottom tab to clearly indicate which account is currently active, helping users avoid confusion when sending messages. This functionality is particularly useful for individuals who maintain multiple phone numbers but prefer managing them from one device, eliminating the need for parallel installations or separate phones.

The messaging platform has also expanded its chat transfer feature, enabling users to move their chat history from iOS devices to Android smartphones. Previously, switching between operating systems often resulted in lost conversation histories or complicated migration processes. With the improved transfer capability, users can retain their chats when moving across platforms, reducing friction during device upgrades. Alongside this, WhatsApp has introduced enhanced storage management tools that allow users to better control media files within conversations. Users can now find and delete large files directly inside a chat, access storage options by tapping the chat name and selecting manage storage, and remove media files while keeping the text chat history intact. These changes aim to help users manage device storage more efficiently without losing important conversations.

WhatsApp is also introducing several AI powered features supported by Meta. These include sticker suggestions that appear when users type emojis, allowing them to replace emojis with relevant stickers in a single tap. The update also enables photo editing within chat using Meta AI before sending images, giving users quick enhancements without leaving the conversation. Another addition is AI writing assistance that can draft suggested replies based on the ongoing conversation while maintaining message privacy. According to WhatsApp, the new features are rolling out gradually and will become available to users worldwide in the coming weeks, expanding the platform’s functionality while focusing on improved usability and smarter communication tools.
