Tecno has unveiled its Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone, a prototype the company says achieves a completely invisible bezel around its display. The device is set to make its public debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin, a technology exhibition running from September 4 to September 8, where more details about the concept are expected to be revealed.
According to Tecno, the claimed zero millimeter bezel was achieved through advanced internal component stacking, new screen packaging methods, and a redesigned internal structure. The company has not explained the specific technical mechanisms behind these methods or how it protects the exposed edge of the display from damage, with further technical details expected once the prototype is formally showcased at the Berlin exhibition. The design allows the display to extend fully to the edges of the phone with almost no visible border, though the device still retains a hole punch cutout for its front facing camera.
To highlight the difference in design, Tecno released comparison images placing the concept phone alongside Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, drawing attention to the visibly thicker borders surrounding Apple’s display by comparison. The handset remains strictly a concept device at this stage, and Tecno has not announced any plans to bring it to market or confirmed whether the bezelless technology will be integrated into a specific commercial smartphone in the near future.
The announcement nonetheless signals that Tecno is actively exploring how a fully bezelless design could eventually be applied to future devices, even as questions remain about the technology’s practicality, durability and suitability for mass production. Concept devices of this kind often serve as early demonstrations of design directions companies are considering, without guaranteeing that the exact technology will appear in consumer products, leaving open the question of whether or when a bezelless display might make its way into a Tecno phone available for purchase.
