Sightful has formally introduced the Spacetop G1, describing it as the world’s first screenless augmented reality laptop designed to reshape how professionals interact with digital workspaces. Launched in May 2024, the device replaces the traditional laptop display with wearable augmented reality glasses, creating a private and immersive virtual screen environment. Developed by Tel Aviv based startup Sightful, founded by former Magic Leap executives Tamir Berliner and Tomer Kahan, the Spacetop G1 combines conventional laptop hardware with spatial computing technology to deliver what the company calls a more expansive and distraction free productivity experience.

Instead of a built in physical screen, users wear XREAL Air 2 Ultra glasses that project a virtual 1080p display directly into their field of vision. This setup enables a significantly larger digital workspace compared to standard laptops, supporting multitasking across multiple windows without the limitations of a fixed panel. The device retains a familiar physical base featuring a keyboard and trackpad, ensuring that users do not have to relearn core input methods. The glasses are lightweight and connect directly to the laptop through a wired link. They also include a dimming control to adjust for ambient lighting conditions and support custom prescription lenses, broadening accessibility for users who require vision correction.

The Spacetop G1 is powered by a Snapdragon processor and runs on SpaceOS, Sightful’s custom operating system built on Chromium architecture. The platform is optimized for productivity focused applications including Microsoft 365 and Zoom, positioning the device primarily for business professionals and remote workers. While it supports everyday office tasks and communication tools, the hardware is not intended for resource intensive workflows such as advanced video editing or high end graphical production. In terms of connectivity, the laptop offers Wi Fi 7 capability, optional 5G support, two Universal Serial Bus Type C ports, and a built in five megapixel webcam, allowing users to remain connected in hybrid and mobile environments.

Sightful envisions the Spacetop G1 as a bridge between physical and virtual computing environments, catering to professionals who require privacy, flexibility, and portability. The compact design makes it suitable for travel and on the go usage, although users must carry the augmented reality glasses alongside the main unit. By eliminating the conventional display and shifting to a wearable interface, the company is testing a new direction in personal computing where screen real estate is no longer defined by hardware dimensions but by digital projection within augmented space.
