Pakistan Software Export Board has signed a formal agreement to launch a dedicated Soft Skills Training Program for information technology professionals in the country, under the Prime Minister’s flagship “Capacity Building of IT Industry” initiative. The agreement brings together a specialised consortium of partners including Liaison Corporation as the lead collaborator, alongside Herqbator, Wibbow Technologies, Solochoicez, Singularity Technology, and the School of Leadership Foundation — each contributing domain expertise to a programme designed to address one of the most persistent gaps in Pakistan’s technology workforce: the ability to lead, communicate, and navigate complex professional challenges at a global level.

The programme has been built on a straightforward premise that technical proficiency, while essential, is no longer sufficient on its own to secure lasting professional success or drive meaningful export growth for Pakistani technology firms. As Pakistani software companies compete for international clients and talent across increasingly demanding global markets, the capacity of their teams to demonstrate emotional intelligence, executive presence, and critical problem-solving has become as commercially significant as the quality of their code. For companies, the programme is positioned as a vehicle to strengthen client relationships and drive higher export remittances through more effective cross-cultural communication. For individual professionals, it offers structured development in competencies that are rarely covered in conventional information technology education but are consistently cited by employers and clients as differentiators in high-value engagements.

The programme is specifically designed for PSEB-registered companies and professionals with three to five years of industry experience — a cohort that sits at a pivotal point in their careers where the transition from technical contributor to broader professional leader typically occurs. By targeting this segment deliberately, the initiative aims to create a pipeline of mid-career information technology professionals who are equipped not just to deliver technically but to represent Pakistani firms with confidence and credibility on the world stage. The programme is now open for applications at https://lnkd.in/d9nY_Ygyd, and is backed by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Pakistan under the broader Tech Destination Pakistan vision.
