The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, under the Tech Destination Pakistan initiative, has announced openings for six specialized technology roles spanning expert and research associate positions across three of the most consequential emerging technology domains: Quantum Computing, Blockchain, and the Internet of Things. All positions carry an application deadline of April 9, 2026, and candidates can apply through www.njp.gov.pk.

At the SPPS-III grade, the ministry is seeking Expert Emerging Tech professionals in each of the three domains. The Quantum Computing expert will support Pakistan’s advancement in quantum technologies, strategic research, and international collaboration frameworks, with the role contributing directly to national readiness in quantum computation, cryptography, and advanced computational capabilities for secure digital infrastructure. The Blockchain expert position focuses on developing blockchain ecosystems, digital trust frameworks, and distributed systems adoption, with responsibilities covering the strengthening of secure digital transactions, regulatory frameworks, and innovation in Web3, fintech, and digital identity systems. The IoT expert role is oriented toward advancing Pakistan’s adoption of IoT-enabled systems and connected technologies across sectors, contributing to national IoT frameworks, cybersecurity standards, and innovation in smart cities, industry, and public service delivery.

At the SPPS-IV grade, the ministry is simultaneously recruiting Research Associates in the same three domains. The Research Associate for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, while not an emerging tech expert position, supports development of AI research, policy inputs, and data-driven innovation initiatives, contributing to the strengthening of AI ecosystems, ethical frameworks, and the adoption of intelligent systems across public and private sectors. The Research Associate for IoT supports research and implementation of IoT applications, smart systems, and connected infrastructure, with a focus on IoT frameworks, ecosystem coordination, and adoption of innovative solutions across industries. The Research Associate for Blockchain supports research in blockchain systems, digital assets, and distributed technologies, contributing to policy development, secure digital solutions, and the growth of blockchain-based applications in key sectors. Finally, the Research Associate for Quantum Computing supports research and analysis in quantum technologies, global trends, and emerging computational models, with contributions toward national capacity building, research collaboration, and development of quantum-focused strategies. All roles are part of Pakistan’s broader digital transformation agenda under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.
