PTA and the Pakistan Post Office Department have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem and improving public service delivery through integrated communication infrastructure. The signing took place on April 7, 2026, at PTA Headquarters in Islamabad, marking a formal convergence of two of the country’s most significant public institutions around the Government’s broader vision of Digital Pakistan — one that is efficient, secure, and oriented toward citizen-centric services.

The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a structured framework for information sharing, mutual cooperation, and coordination between the two institutions. The collaboration is designed to leverage the complementary strengths of PTA and Pakistan Post in advancing key national priorities, with agreed areas of focus spanning digital postal services, e-governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure utilisation, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. The breadth of these areas reflects an understanding that modernising public service delivery in Pakistan requires coordinated action across agencies rather than siloed institutional efforts, and the agreement formalises that intent at the highest institutional level.

Chairman PTA, Major General Hafeez Ur Rahman, Hi (M) SI, reaffirmed PTA’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that strengthen digital infrastructure and promote innovation, emphasising the importance of inter-agency collaboration as a pillar of Pakistan’s digital ambitions. Director General Pakistan Post, Samiullah Khan, expressed appreciation for PTA’s proactive approach and underlined Pakistan Post’s commitment to modernising postal services through digital integration. Both leaderships framed the agreement not merely as a procedural milestone but as a substantive step toward a connected and digitally empowered Pakistan, where legacy institutions are reimagined as active participants in the country’s technological transformation.
