Niantic has officially confirmed the next season of Pokemon GO, titled Forever Forward, which is set to launch on June 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM local time and will run through September 8, 2026. The new season shifts focus straight to the game’s future, with a 15-second teaser trailer released by the development team featuring a visor-wearing Pikachu that fans first encountered during the May 2026 Spring Marathon, alongside confetti and the official 10th-anniversary logo filling the screen. The arrival of Forever Forward also marks the end of the current Memories in Motion season, which brought Blipbug, Flittle, Silicobra, Orthworm, and Mimikyu into the game and initiated the franchise’s 30th-anniversary celebrations.
The upcoming season perfectly coincides with GO Fest Global 2026, scheduled for July 11 and 12. During this massive event, players will see the global debuts of Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Zeraora, alongside several Raids and bonuses. Already, the in-person GO Fest activities began in Tokyo, Japan, where early access to Mega Mewtwo was granted to lucky attendees, with the physical GO Fest experience next travelling to Chicago and Copenhagen in June. Pokemon GO officially turns ten years old on July 6, 2026, a milestone that is expected to bring unique rewards, limited bonuses, and special costumed Pokemon as part of the anniversary festivities throughout the Forever Forward season.
Developers have scheduled three Community Days for the Forever Forward season, with the first taking place on June 20 and starring an Ice-type Pokemon. Unlike the previous season, Forever Forward will not feature a Community Day Classic event. For players who do not want to wait until July for new content, limited Team Leader quests are already active starting May 26 and running until June 15, allowing players to complete special missions from Candela, Blanche, and Spark focused on catching Pokemon, hatching Eggs, and winning battles. Players can also obtain Limited GO Passes during this period, which reward trainers with exclusive costumed versions of Lapras, Elekid, and Ponyta. With a 10th anniversary milestone, the global GO Fest event, and a string of new Pokemon debuts all packed into a single season, Forever Forward is shaping up to be one of the most content-heavy seasons Pokemon GO has delivered since its launch in 2016.
