PEC Launches Young Engineers National Forum to Empower Engineering Youth

Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has officially approved the establishment of the Young Engineers National Forum. This initiative, endorsed during a recent meeting of the PEC Governing Body, represents a strategic effort to address the multifaceted challenges faced by emerging engineers across Pakistan and to provide them with a structured platform for representation, development, and engagement.

The Young Engineers National Forum is envisioned as a nationwide body that will bring together young engineers from diverse sectors and regions. Associations of young engineers operating at various levels have been invited to collaborate under this new umbrella, laying the foundation for an integrated, dynamic, and unified network that reflects the collective voice and aspirations of Pakistan’s engineering youth.

By creating this platform, the PEC aims to bridge the gap between academic training and professional practice, offering young engineers a supportive environment to enhance their technical knowledge, leadership capacity, and career prospects. The forum is expected to host a series of training programs, seminars, and conferences tailored to the evolving needs of the industry. These initiatives will focus on equipping participants with modern skills and exposure to emerging trends in engineering and technology.

PEC Chairman Engineer Waseem Nazir, while announcing the initiative, emphasized the central role that young engineers play in the nation’s development and the importance of investing in their growth. He remarked that the forum would become the true voice of engineering youth in Pakistan, offering a transparent, effective, and empowering space where their concerns can be addressed, and their potential nurtured. He reiterated that the PEC is committed to creating opportunities for professional advancement that not only benefit individuals but also contribute to the broader economic and technological progress of the country.

According to the Chairman, the Young Engineers National Forum is more than a domestic initiative. It carries international significance as well, as it will prepare young professionals to represent Pakistan on global platforms. The forum will help cultivate engineering ambassadors who are ready to showcase Pakistani talent and innovation to the world, while also learning from best practices abroad.

The formation of this forum is being welcomed across engineering institutions and organizations, with many expressing hope that it will bring long-overdue structural support to young professionals struggling with job placement, career progression, and skills development. It is expected that through this platform, the engineering sector will witness a more engaged, prepared, and motivated youth workforce, ready to tackle contemporary challenges with confidence and vision.

As PEC moves forward with implementing this initiative, it is also seeking input from stakeholders and youth representatives to ensure that the forum remains inclusive, relevant, and aligned with the aspirations of those it is designed to serve.
