Pakistan IT Industry Association is organising an official delegation to LEAP 2026, one of the world’s largest technology conferences, scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The delegation is intended to give Pakistani technology companies direct access to global tech leaders, investors, startups, and policymakers gathering at the event, while also opening doors to new business opportunities across the wider GCC and MENA markets.
LEAP is now in its fifth edition and has grown into one of the most significant technology gatherings globally since its founding in 2022 by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, and event organiser Tahaluf. Previous editions of the conference have drawn hundreds of thousands of visitors and thousands of exhibitors, with earlier editions collectively generating tens of billions of dollars in announced investment across sectors including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, financial technology, smart cities, and digital infrastructure. This year’s edition was rescheduled from its original April date to late August, following consultations among organisers aimed at ensuring strong international participation given regional developments earlier in the year.
Pakistan IT Industry Association has framed participation in the delegation as a strategic opportunity for local technology companies, pointing to Saudi Arabia’s rapid growth as a digital transformation market backed by substantial government and private sector investment in information technology, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and smart infrastructure. The association said the delegation would allow Pakistani firms to showcase their capabilities to regional and global buyers, explore new export opportunities, and build long term partnerships across the Gulf Cooperation Council and broader Middle East and North Africa region.
Companies interested in joining the delegation have been offered a package that includes curated business to business meetings, dedicated networking opportunities, inclusion of their company profile in a delegation digital booklet, and a visa facilitation letter to support their travel arrangements. Pakistan IT Industry Association has also negotiated a special priority pass rate of Rs110,000 for delegation members, compared to the regular international price of roughly USD800, alongside a separate participation fee of Rs200,000 per person, with conference passes required to be purchased separately. Interested companies and professionals can register their interest by contacting the association’s delegations team, with the registration window remaining open until July 24.
The initiative reflects a broader pattern of engagement between Pakistan’s technology sector and major international events in recent years, as local industry bodies continue seeking platforms to connect Pakistani firms with global markets. Tech Destination Pakistan has also been associated with the delegation announcement, continuing a pattern of collaboration between the country’s information technology promotion bodies on international outreach efforts aimed at expanding the sector’s presence beyond domestic markets.
