PASHA Skills Survey 2025 has revealed key industry priorities, signaling where Pakistan’s IT sector is heading in terms of human capital requirements. According to the latest findings, technical job vacancies remain substantial with 32,685 openings reported across the sector. By contrast, non-technical roles stand at a much lower 1,969 vacancies. This imbalance underscores the market’s strong demand for specialized technical talent as companies continue to scale their digital operations and expand service offerings at home and abroad.

The survey also identifies a clear emphasis on workforce development beyond recruitment. It shows that 61,515 professionals are marked for upskilling, while another 61,155 are expected to be reskilled. These figures reflect how organizations are not only looking to bring in fresh talent but are equally focused on enhancing the capabilities of their existing teams. In an environment where emerging technologies evolve quickly, these upskilling and reskilling targets are designed to close skill gaps, maintain competitiveness, and help firms meet international standards.

In addition to training, the need for formal IT certifications has emerged as a critical requirement. PASHA reports 46,530 certifications will be required across the sector, demonstrating a push towards standardized, verifiable competencies. Certifications play an important role in validating skills and boosting the credibility of professionals in areas like cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, and software engineering. Employers increasingly see certifications as a measure of readiness for complex projects and international assignments, making them a cornerstone of career advancement in the IT industry.

Overall, the Skills Survey 2025 presents a data-driven snapshot of a sector in rapid transformation. High technical vacancy rates combined with unprecedented levels of planned upskilling, reskilling, and certification reflect an industry preparing itself for heightened competition and global integration. These insights offer a roadmap for job seekers, educators, and policymakers to align training programs and career planning with market realities. Stakeholders can explore the full report for deeper analysis and sector-specific breakdowns to better understand where opportunities are emerging.
