Zong’s 5G network now lives across 27 locations in Islamabad, marking a steady and deliberate expansion of the China Mobile subsidiary’s next-generation footprint in the federal capital following Pakistan’s historic spectrum auction earlier this month. The newly active sites span a diverse mix of commercial hubs, public institutions, premium hospitality zones, and high-traffic areas, reflecting Zong’s focus on ensuring stable performance under real-world congestion conditions before scaling further across the city.

The confirmed active locations include Islamabad New Airport, E-11 Markaz, H-12 at NUST University, G-11 Markaz, F-11 Markaz, F-10 Markaz, F-9 near McDonald’s, the New Blue Area near the Jazz office, Karachi Company, I-8 Markaz, the Elysium area covering Centaurus Mall and PIMS Hospital, F-8 Kacheri, D-Watson near the NADRA office, Savour Foods, Islamabad CSC, F-7 Markaz, E-7 Markaz, F-6 Markaz, Punjab House, PTA headquarters, Marriott, Parliament Lodges, the Supreme Court, Serena Hotel, the Diplomatic Enclave, the Chinese Embassy, and CMPAK headquarters.

The list reveals a strategic deployment philosophy that prioritises locations where network performance will be most visible and most tested. High-footfall commercial zones such as Centaurus Mall, F-10 Markaz, and the Blue Area ensure that the network is stress-tested under daily urban usage, while coverage at key government installations including PTA headquarters, Parliament Lodges, and the Supreme Court points to the operator’s interest in establishing credibility at the highest institutional levels. The inclusion of the Diplomatic Enclave, Serena Hotel, and the Marriott similarly signals Zong’s intent to serve premium and internationally frequented zones where connectivity expectations are highest. For now, this remains a limited rollout, but the growing number of active spots indicates that Zong is steadily preparing for a broader 5G launch across Islamabad as competition among Pakistani operators continues to intensify.
