Pakistan eCommerce Association has announced the establishment of an eCommerce Standing Committee at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, marking a new step toward structured engagement between the eCommerce sector and one of the country’s leading business chambers. The development has been welcomed by industry stakeholders as an opportunity to strengthen coordination, representation, and dialogue around issues impacting Pakistan’s rapidly growing digital commerce landscape.

According to Pakistan eCommerce Association, the newly formed standing committee will serve as a collaborative platform bringing together industry leaders, founders, professionals, and key stakeholders from across the eCommerce value chain. The initiative is aimed at fostering regular interaction between businesses operating in online retail, marketplaces, logistics, payments, and enabling services. By operating under the umbrella of LCCI, the committee is expected to play a more active role in engaging with policymakers, regulators, and traditional business segments, ensuring that the priorities and challenges of eCommerce businesses are more effectively represented within the broader commercial ecosystem.

PEA stated that the committee will focus on addressing key challenges faced by the industry, including regulatory clarity, policy alignment, operational barriers, and sustainable growth strategies. In addition to policy related discussions, the forum will encourage the sharing of insights, best practices, and market intelligence among members. The association believes that closer coordination between experienced founders and emerging entrepreneurs can help accelerate maturity across the sector, improve compliance standards, and support long term credibility for online businesses operating in Pakistan. The presence of the committee within LCCI is also expected to help bridge gaps between conventional commerce and digital trade, encouraging greater integration between offline and online business models.

The first committee meetup session is scheduled to take place this week at LCCI in Lahore. Pakistan eCommerce Association has invited all members and relevant stakeholders to participate and contribute to shaping the agenda and direction of the committee. The initial session is expected to focus on outlining priorities, defining working mechanisms, and identifying immediate areas where collective input can support industry growth. By encouraging active participation from across the ecosystem, PEA aims to ensure that the committee reflects a diverse range of perspectives, including startups, established platforms, service providers, and support organizations.

The formation of an eCommerce Standing Committee at LCCI comes at a time when Pakistan’s digital commerce sector continues to expand in scale and complexity. With increasing consumer adoption, evolving regulations, and growing interest from investors and traditional businesses, structured industry representation has become more important. PEA noted that the committee will work toward constructive engagement with public and private sector institutions, helping create an environment that supports innovation while addressing operational and compliance challenges faced by eCommerce businesses.

Through this initiative, Pakistan eCommerce Association aims to contribute to building a stronger and more organized eCommerce ecosystem that can support sustainable growth and increased participation in the digital economy. By working closely with LCCI and its members, the association expects the standing committee to play a meaningful role in advancing dialogue, collaboration, and collective problem solving. Stakeholders across the sector have been encouraged to engage actively with the committee and contribute to shaping the future of eCommerce in Pakistan through shared effort and coordinated action.
