More than 10.5 million citizens across Punjab have benefited from services offered at the 15 e-Khidmat Maraakaz centers established across the province, with each center providing over 170 government services under one roof and eliminating the long queues and departmental delays that had historically made routine civic transactions a time-consuming ordeal for ordinary citizens. The figures were shared during a progress review meeting presided over by Punjab Information Technology Board Chairman Faisal Yousaf at Arfa Software Technology Park in Lahore, where participants were briefed in detail on the service uptake trends and operational performance of the network.
The breakdown of service utilisation reveals the breadth of the initiative’s reach. Over 1.816 million citizens have availed postal services through the centers, while more than 1.328 million have obtained domicile certificates and over 1.22 million have acquired driving licences. National Database and Registration Authority e-Sahulat services have been used by 1.177 million citizens, and over one million have accessed National Identity Card-related facilities through the network. Beyond these figures, the centers collectively offer a comprehensive suite of services spanning district, provincial, and federal levels, including the issuance of character, birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates, vehicle registration, token tax payments, vehicle ownership transfer, land record services, route permits, e-stamp papers, and arms licences, among others.
Chairman Faisal Yousaf noted that the growing number of citizens choosing to access services through e-Khidmat Maraakaz reflects the increasing public trust the initiative has earned since its establishment, and confirmed that the centers had achieved a further milestone by securing ISO 9001:2015 certification, underscoring their commitment to quality and efficient service delivery. He added that continuous efforts are underway to expand the scope of the centers and enhance their operational efficiency to serve a greater number of citizens across more districts of the province. The e-Khidmat Maraakaz model, which consolidates multiple government departments under a single facilitated service window, has become one of Punjab Information Technology Board’s flagship digital governance achievements, demonstrating that integrated citizen service delivery can be both scalable and trusted when backed by consistent investment in process quality and technology infrastructure.
