The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an appointment booking facility through its Pak ID mobile application, allowing citizens to schedule visits to NADRA offices without waiting in queues. Under the new service, users can book a slot from home, select their preferred time, and visit the relevant NADRA office shortly before the scheduled appointment. NADRA has also released an updated version of the Pak ID application with several additional digital services.

The appointment feature is designed to make visits to NADRA offices more convenient by allowing citizens to plan their visits in advance. Instead of arriving at an office and waiting for their turn, applicants can use the mobile application to arrange an appointment before visiting. NADRA has confirmed through its official services portal that appointment booking for processing through National Registration Centres is available through Pak ID. The authority’s digital platform already provides services related to identity documents, application tracking, family composition, document uploads, online fee payments, and digital cards.

The updated Pak ID app also includes several new features aimed at expanding the digital services available to citizens. According to NADRA spokesperson Shabahat Ali, users can now lodge complaints with the Federal Investigation Agency online, correct family records, upload signatures, and access digital identity documents. The application also allows citizens to check the status of their national identity card applications remotely. Users can enter the tracking ID and PIN code provided on their receipt through the application’s tracking option, while application status can also be checked by sending the tracking ID to 8400 through SMS or by calling NADRA’s helpline at 1777.

NADRA has also reminded citizens to collect their identity cards within the specified period after issuance. Under the authority’s policy, an identity card that remains uncollected for three months after the final delivery date is destroyed, after which the applicant must submit a fresh application and pay the applicable fee again. The latest appointment facility adds another in-person service option to NADRA’s expanding digital platform, allowing citizens to handle more parts of the registration process through their mobile phones before visiting an office. The development is part of NADRA’s continued shift toward app-based access to identity and government services, with the Pak ID platform increasingly serving as a digital gateway for applications, tracking, appointments, and identity-related services.
