Lieutenant General (Retd.) Engr. Moazzam Ejaz, Rector of the National University of Technology (NUTECH), met with Engr. Qamar ul Islam, Chairman of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), at the commission’s headquarters to discuss opportunities for strengthening collaboration in Pakistan’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector. The meeting focused on enhancing institutional cooperation to better align education with the country’s evolving workforce requirements.

Both organizations explored ways to expand collaboration in skills development, workforce readiness and industry-led training programmes designed to equip students with market-relevant competencies. The discussions also emphasized strengthening industry-academia linkages through joint initiatives that improve the quality of technical education while preparing graduates for employment in emerging and high-demand sectors.

The engagement highlighted the importance of innovation, strategic partnerships and capacity-building programmes in developing a future-ready workforce capable of meeting both national and international industry standards. By fostering closer cooperation between higher education institutions and national skills development bodies, the partnership aims to create more opportunities for youth while supporting Pakistan’s broader economic and industrial development goals.

The meeting reflects the shared commitment of NUTECH and NAVTTC to advancing excellence in technical education and promoting a modern, industry-responsive TVET ecosystem. Through continued collaboration, both institutions seek to strengthen Pakistan’s human capital, improve employability and contribute to building a highly skilled workforce that can compete effectively in the global economy.
