NED University of Engineering and Technology, through NED Academy, is offering an eight week professional course titled Generative AI for Business, Leadership, and Decision Making, delivered entirely online starting September 22. The course is organized in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing Engineering Education, CSRT, and C-Sevenfifty, and is designed to be creditable toward NED Academy’s Postgraduate Diploma programme in accordance with applicable rules.

The course content is structured around helping participants build practical familiarity with widely used generative AI platforms including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Grok, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, framing these tools as central to how executives are increasingly making decisions and driving measurable business outcomes. Participants will be expected to apply AI strategies directly to their own professional challenges by building a capstone project from start to finish, working through an actual business problem intended to demonstrate tangible impact by the end of the programme. The curriculum also covers how successful leaders use AI to identify market opportunities, anticipate emerging trends, and make strategic choices capable of directly affecting an organization’s bottom line, alongside practical instruction on using AI to analyze data, detect patterns, and support faster, more informed team level decision making.

Beyond the technical and strategic components, the course places emphasis on responsible AI practices intended to build trust between leaders, their teams, and broader stakeholders, with specific attention given to ethics, governance, privacy, and accountability as central considerations in any AI related decision. The programme also aims to help participants demonstrate to their own teams how to work alongside AI tools with confidence, fostering a workplace culture where innovation is encouraged without leaving employees behind in the transition. A further component of the course focuses on building AI powered productivity systems that support planning, communication, meetings, reporting, and other high value managerial tasks that executives handle on a regular basis.

The course will be led by trainer Sheikh M. Akhtar, who holds credentials including MBA, PMP, PRINCE2, CIM, CCP, CPM, and ITILv3 certifications and serves as Founder and CEO of an AI, project management, and business strategy consulting practice. Dr. Najeed Ahmed Khan, CEO of the Centre for Software Research and Training, is serving as focal person for the programme. Sessions will run twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time, with a participation fee of Rs. 29,000 per person, and participants will receive a CPD certificate upon completion as per procedure. Interested applicants can register through the official NED Academy portal, with further details available through the university’s listed contact channels.
