The National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the Pakistan Artificial Leather Importers & Merchants Association (PALIMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under NAVTTC’s Industry-Led Training initiative to strengthen technical skills development and align workforce training with industry requirements. The collaboration aims to address existing skill gaps by creating demand-driven training programmes that equip individuals with practical competencies needed by Pakistan’s artificial leather industry.

Under the partnership, both organizations will work closely to improve workforce employability by designing training programmes that reflect evolving industry needs and international standards. The initiative also seeks to strengthen collaboration between industry and training institutions, ensuring that graduates possess job-ready skills while helping employers gain access to a more qualified and competitive workforce.

The MoU is expected to support the sustainable growth of Pakistan’s artificial leather sector by promoting innovation, productivity and greater industrial competitiveness. By aligning vocational education with market demands, the initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities, encourage industrial development and prepare skilled professionals capable of contributing to both domestic manufacturing and export-oriented businesses.

The agreement reflects NAVTTC’s continued focus on expanding industry-led training partnerships that bridge the gap between education and employment. Through closer collaboration with industry stakeholders, the commission aims to create a future-ready workforce that supports Pakistan’s economic growth while strengthening the competitiveness of key manufacturing sectors in regional and global markets.
