Motorola has launched the Moto Pad 70 Pro as the successor to the Moto Pad 60 Pro, bringing a significant hardware upgrade to its premium tablet lineup with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a large 13-inch display, and a dedicated PC Mode designed to extend the device’s utility into productivity and desktop-style computing.
The Moto Pad 70 Pro features a 13-inch display with a 3.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 12-bit colour depth, up to 800 nits of brightness in high-brightness mode, and Dolby Vision support. Motorola has not confirmed whether the panel uses LCD or AMOLED technology. The tablet has a metal body measuring 6.2mm in thickness and weighing 589 grams, available in a single Pantone Titan colour. Internally, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is paired with 8 gigabytes of RAM and either 128 or 256 gigabytes of storage, with a microSD card slot supporting up to 2 terabytes of expansion. The device runs Android 16 out of the box, with Motorola committing to updates through Android 18 and security patches until 2030.
The PC Mode provides a desktop-style interface for productivity tasks, positioning the tablet as a laptop alternative for users who want a larger screen experience without carrying a separate computer. The Smart Connect feature enables file transfers and seamless connections across compatible Motorola smartphones, tablets, and computers. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, though the device does not support LTE or any other cellular network, making it a Wi-Fi-only tablet. The camera setup includes a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, while audio is handled by four JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a specification that positions the device well for media consumption alongside its productivity capabilities. Motorola supports gaming at up to 120 frames per second on the platform.
The 10,200 milliampere-hour battery supports 45 watt charging, and Motorola includes a 68 watt adapter in the box, though the tablet itself is capped at 45 watt input. A Moto Pen Pro stylus is included with every unit. The optional Snap-On Keyboard is sold separately. The 8 gigabyte and 128 gigabyte version is priced at $392, the 8 gigabyte and 256 gigabyte model at $423, and the 256 gigabyte variant bundled with the Snap-On Keyboard at $487.
