Mobilink Bank has taken a significant step toward supporting digital education for girls by solarizing the Digital Arts Lab at Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls Secondary School in Karachi. The initiative, implemented in collaboration with Zindagi Trust, ensures consistent and sustainable power for the school’s technology-driven learning environment. By addressing frequent electricity disruptions, the project enables students to fully engage with digital tools, creative platforms, and skill-building activities.

Announced on December 30, 2025, this initiative was executed under Mobilink Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, reflecting the bank’s commitment to women’s social and financial inclusion. The solarized lab now provides uninterrupted access to digital learning for around 320 students from grades six to eight, supporting both current students and future cohorts. By integrating renewable energy into classroom infrastructure, Mobilink Bank has created a solution that not only improves learning experiences but also promotes environmental sustainability.

Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, highlighted the importance of reliable energy for digital education, stating that the collaboration with Zindagi Trust allows young girls to thrive in a technology-driven environment. Zindagi Trust emphasized that renewable energy is a crucial component in ensuring public school students have access to modern learning tools despite infrastructure challenges. The project demonstrates a shared dedication to enhancing education quality through sustainable and socially responsible solutions.

Public schools in Pakistan often face electricity shortages that restrict the effective use of digital labs. By providing a solar-powered setup, Mobilink Bank has ensured that the Digital Arts Lab can operate continuously, enabling students to develop digital literacy, creative thinking, and critical skills that are essential in today’s fast-evolving world. The initiative complements Zindagi Trust’s ongoing mission to transform public education with future-ready learning environments and provides a scalable model that could benefit other schools across the country.

This solarization effort reflects Mobilink Bank’s broader vision of combining educational support with environmental responsibility. By addressing infrastructure gaps in public schools, the bank and Zindagi Trust are helping students gain uninterrupted access to digital education and opportunities for creative and technological growth, reinforcing the importance of sustainable interventions in education.
