Microsoft has launched a refreshed Surface for Business portfolio featuring four updated devices, all powered by Intel’s new Core Ultra Series 3 processors codenamed Panther Lake, with the lineup targeting enterprise and business customers first while consumer variants are expected later in the year. The four devices being updated are the Surface Pro 13-inch, Surface Laptop 13-inch, Surface Laptop 13.8-inch, and Surface Laptop 15-inch, with the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch and Surface Laptop 15-inch receiving the most notable upgrades, including new display options and some versions featuring a privacy screen similar to the one found on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the Surface Laptop 15-inch also gets a higher resolution display, though it still uses an LCD panel with OLED versions expected in the coming months.
The new 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop for Business start at $1,949.99, with the smaller model configurable with Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra X7 chips and the 15-inch model available only with Core Ultra 7 chips, while all models are offered with 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB. Microsoft is introducing advanced haptic touchpads on the new laptops, which offer tactile feedback when snapping and resizing windows, dragging and dropping content, and other interface interactions, with haptic feedback adjustable or fully disabled through Windows settings. Microsoft claims the new Surface Laptop for Business delivers up to 35 percent more graphics performance than the MacBook Air with M5 and more than 90 percent faster performance than the Surface Laptop 5 on select configurations with the Intel Core Ultra X7 processor.
The smaller 13-inch Surface Laptop for Business, available with Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 3 processors in 16GB and 24GB configurations and up to 1TB of storage, carries a $1,499 starting price, with a more affordable model featuring 8GB of RAM coming later this year at $1,299, though Microsoft has confirmed this cheaper variant will not be Copilot+ PC compatible. The Surface Pro 13-inch receives a more modest update, gaining the new Core Ultra chips but not the upgraded haptic touchpad found on the Surface Laptop models, and is available with Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 processors, up to 64GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, optional OLED display configurations, and optional 5G connectivity starting at $1,949.99. Microsoft has attributed the significantly higher pricing across the lineup to ongoing component shortages affecting memory and other parts. Snapdragon X2-powered versions of the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are confirmed for later this year, with sources indicating the delay is due to Snapdragon X2 chip availability, and the Snapdragon models are expected to feature OLED displays and the same haptic touchpad improvements now shipping on the Intel variants, with consumer versions of the new Surface lineup also expected to arrive over the summer alongside the Snapdragon models.
