Ray Yu, Vice CEO of Huawei Pakistan, convened with Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, in Islamabad on Wednesday to review the progress of agreements made during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China.

During the meeting, Dr. Siddiqui emphasized the pivotal role of Pakistan’s youth in advancing the IT sector. He highlighted the discrepancy between the annual output of 25,000 IT graduates from Pakistani universities and the employment opportunities available, noting that only 5,000 graduates secure jobs. Addressing this gap, he stressed the importance of equipping graduates with training in cutting-edge technologies.

Additionally, the Minister underscored significant prospects for collaboration in the private sector between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the need to capitalize on these opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties.
