Konnect by HBL, the bank’s youth engagement initiative, has entered the world of esports with the Tekken 8 Women’s Gaming Tournament. Held under the banner of “Aur Khelo” (Let’s Play), the tournament provides a platform for female gamers in Lahore to compete and showcase their skills in the popular fighting game Tekken.

The tournament, held on April 20, 2024, welcomed enthusiastic women gamers from Lahore. IGN and Raptr partnered with Konnect by HBL to power the event.

This initiative marks a significant step for HBL. By creating equal opportunities, HBL aims to empower women in the esports industry and foster a more inclusive esports scene in Pakistan. The tournament aligns with the bank’s commitment to connect with the country’s growing youth population.

“Gaming is no longer a male-dominated field,”

said Ali Habib, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at HBL.

“An impressive 23% of Pakistan’s 37 million gamers are women. With esports flourishing as a subculture, Konnect by HBL is determined to play a key role in shaping the future of esports in Pakistan.”
