Google has expanded its student-focused Gemini tools to Pakistan, giving students access to a range of artificial intelligence features designed to support studying, coursework, exam preparation, research and career planning. The Gemini for Students page is now available in Pakistan, while Google is rolling out its new study notebooks to personal accounts globally. However, Pakistani students are currently not eligible for the company’s new one-year free premium AI student offer. The expansion gives students in Pakistan access to AI-powered learning features that can use their own academic materials as a basis for personalised assistance. Students can upload lecture notes, presentations, syllabi, reading materials and other documents, allowing Gemini to use the provided information to create learning resources and explain difficult topics. The move adds Pakistan to the wider rollout of Google student-focused AI capabilities as the company continues developing Gemini as a tool for academic work. Rather than relying only on general AI conversations, the new features are designed around specific study materials and academic tasks, allowing students to organise information and receive assistance based on the content they provide.
Google study notebooks provide students with a dedicated workspace for organising their academic material and working through different subjects. Students can begin with diagnostic quizzes that help identify areas where they require additional practice, after which Gemini can generate smaller lessons based on those results. The learning material can also adjust as students complete further quizzes and provide additional study resources. The notebooks work with NotebookLM, allowing students to transform their academic material into resources such as flashcards and infographics. Gemini can also convert notes and course documents into study guides and practice quizzes, while providing explanations of difficult concepts and answering questions based on uploaded material. These functions are designed to give students a more structured way to use artificial intelligence for learning, particularly when preparing for examinations or reviewing material from lectures and presentations. The tools can also assist with writing, brainstorming, outlining and proofreading, giving students additional support when preparing assignments and other academic work. Google Search can provide supporting sources and citations for research, while Gemini can help users find and organise information for academic projects and presentations.
The Gemini expansion also includes features intended to support students beyond classroom study. Google is positioning Gemini as a career preparation tool that can help students prepare for entry into the workforce. Students can use the AI assistant to review and improve their curriculum vitae, generate practice interview questions based on specific job descriptions and explore possible career paths based on their skills and experience. Gemini image tools can also be used to create or edit professional images and headshots, adding another function for students preparing applications and professional profiles. The combination of academic and career tools gives students access to assistance across different stages of their education and transition into employment. The new Student Hub also brings several learning features together in one location, including study notebooks, flashcards and practice quizzes, making it easier for students to access the tools they need without searching through separate features. Google has said the Student Hub will continue to receive additional learning tools as they become available.
While the student-focused Gemini tools are now available to users in Pakistan, the availability of Google premium student benefits differs by market. Google announced a one-year free Google AI Pro plan for eligible college students in the United States, while eligible students outside the United States can receive Google AI Plus under the international student offer. The Google AI Plus plan includes features such as increased Gemini usage limits, Gemini Omni and 400 gigabytes of storage, although eligibility and availability vary by country. TechJuice reports that Pakistani students are not currently eligible for the new one-year free premium AI student offer, even though the Gemini for Students experience and study notebooks are being made available. The expansion nevertheless gives Pakistani students access to a broader set of artificial intelligence learning resources, including personalised study materials, quizzes, research assistance and career preparation tools. With Google continuing to add educational capabilities to Gemini and Search, students in Pakistan can use the available features to organise coursework, understand complex subjects, prepare for examinations and work on career-related tasks through a single AI platform.
