CAPCOM has released a new free bonus mode for Resident Evil Requiem titled “LEON MUST DIE FOREVER,” which became available this morning following earlier teasers. The mini game mode is unlocked after players complete the main storyline of Resident Evil Requiem and brings a combat focused experience centered on fan favorite character Leon S. Kennedy. The release expands the game’s post campaign content by introducing a structured challenge mode built around repeated combat encounters and time based progression systems.

In this new mode, players take control of Leon S. Kennedy as they battle through previously visited campaign areas, facing stronger enemy variants and progressively increasing difficulty levels. The mode includes five distinct ranks that escalate in challenge while requiring players to defeat a final boss under time pressure. Combat performance directly impacts progression, as defeating enemies fills Leon’s enhancement gauge, which unlocks exclusive “enhancer abilities” available only within this game mode. These abilities provide additional combat options and create a dynamic approach to gameplay strategy during each run.

The structure of LEON MUST DIE FOREVER introduces roguelike elements, where the order and progression of areas change in each playthrough. Alongside this, available enhancer abilities also vary, increasing replay value and encouraging multiple attempts to explore different combinations of abilities and routes. CAPCOM has positioned the mode as a replay focused experience that extends engagement beyond the main storyline. Along with the release of this mode, several additional updates have been introduced across Resident Evil Requiem platforms, including multiple bug fixes aimed at improving overall game stability and performance.

On the technical side, PC support has been added for the DualSense wireless controller, enabling adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion sensor functionality for compatible setups. CAPCOM has also announced new merchandise related to LEON MUST DIE FOREVER, including T shirts, long sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies, which are now available through Amazon Japan. In addition, the company confirmed the upcoming release of Resident Evil amiibo figures featuring main characters Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, scheduled for 30 July. These announcements expand the franchise presence beyond gameplay into physical collectibles and platform enhancements.

Separately, a recent datamine has revealed that additional content was removed from the final version of Resident Evil Requiem beyond previously known cuts. The uncovered details suggest that a merchant type character and weapon customization system were initially planned, alongside murder investigation tutorials designed to expand Grace’s gameplay sections. Other removed elements include side missions similar to optional quests, a bike repair tutorial linked to Leon’s motorcycle near the Raccoon City Police Department, and a shared map system that would have displayed both Leon and Grace simultaneously. The data also indicates that Leon was originally intended to use Grace’s Blood Collector for skill upgrades and item crafting, along with mechanics such as an overdose system and a seizure effect on Professional difficulty. CAPCOM has also confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will receive an official expansion later this year, although details have not yet been disclosed.
