Ahson Bin Saeed has officially assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer of Raast Payments Pakistan, marking a key leadership development for the organisation responsible for operating and scaling Pakistan’s instant digital payment system. The announcement regarding his appointment was made on January 14, 2026, as the country continues to accelerate its shift toward digital payments and cashless transaction models under the broader financial inclusion framework.

Saeed brings nearly two decades of experience across fintech, digital payments, and banking technology. Prior to joining Raast Payments Pakistan, he served as Managing Director at Keenu, a licensed Electronic Money Institution in Pakistan, where he played an important role in expanding digital payment acceptance and strengthening merchant focused payment solutions. His work contributed to wider adoption of electronic transactions and improved accessibility of digital financial services across various sectors.

Earlier in his career, Saeed worked with global payment technology providers, including TPS Worldwide, where he focused on payments, sustainability, and digital transformation initiatives. His exposure to international payment ecosystems allowed him to engage with large scale technology deployments and evolving regulatory environments. In addition, he has served as a strategic advisor and board director for multiple fintech firms, supporting business strategy, market expansion, and operational governance across different stages of growth.

Raast Payments Pakistan is a wholly owned subsidiary of SBP, established to operate and scale Raast, the country’s instant payment system. Since its launch, Raast has become a core component of Pakistan’s digital payments infrastructure, supporting person to person transfers, merchant payments, and government disbursements. The system aims to reduce reliance on cash and informal channels by enabling instant, low cost, and interoperable transactions for individuals and businesses.

Under the oversight of SBP, the organisation’s mandate includes ensuring operational resilience, promoting innovation, and driving wider adoption of Raast across the financial ecosystem. This also involves maintaining strong governance practices, robust cybersecurity standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements. As transaction volumes continue to grow, these elements remain critical to sustaining trust and stability within the national payments framework.

With Ahson Bin Saeed leading Raast Payments Pakistan, the focus is expected to remain on strengthening the platform’s operational capabilities while expanding its reach across consumers, businesses, and government entities. His background in both domestic and global payment systems positions him to guide Raast through its next phase of growth, supporting Pakistan’s ongoing transition toward a more inclusive and digitally enabled PayTech environment.
