Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a clarification addressing recent misinformation regarding the status of internet services on January 15, 2026. The regulatory body confirmed that reports suggesting any disruption in internet connectivity across the country on this date are incorrect and lack factual basis. PTA assured that internet services throughout Pakistan will remain stable and fully operational, dismissing rumors of interruptions.

The statement highlights that routine maintenance work on submarine cables is currently underway. However, this ongoing maintenance will not impact internet service availability or quality for users nationwide. PTA emphasized its continuous efforts to monitor network performance and ensure uninterrupted connectivity, reflecting its commitment to maintaining robust internet infrastructure despite scheduled technical procedures. This reassurance comes at a time when digital connectivity is crucial for businesses, government operations, and daily life across the country.

PTA’s proactive communication aims to dispel confusion and prevent misinformation from causing undue concern among internet users. The authority reiterated that the infrastructure supporting Pakistan’s internet ecosystem is resilient and well-managed to withstand maintenance activities without causing disruptions. By maintaining constant surveillance over networks and coordinating with service providers, PTA works to guarantee that any necessary technical interventions do not affect end-user experience or service reliability.

This clarification serves as a reminder of the importance of reliable telecommunications infrastructure in supporting Pakistan’s growing digital economy and connectivity needs. PTA continues to play a key role in overseeing internet services, ensuring that users benefit from stable, high-quality connections. As routine technical maintenance proceeds, the authority encourages stakeholders and the public to rely on official communication channels for updates regarding network status and service continuity.
