Animation and VideoGame Enthusiast Program announced

A special animation and video game program was announced by Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry to inspire young people to be part of the multi-billion dollar gaming industry.

 

Chaudhry also revealed the first OTT platform of its kind, which will be launched soon.

According to Statista, the gaming industry is one of the most profitable and creative technology markets today, with the entire video gaming market estimated to be worth over $200 billion by 2023.

 

Through a tweet, Fawad Chaudhry said, “If you are not interested in reading and are interested in video games on the phone, be prepared. Bringing a special program of video games programming so that we can be a part of this 90 billion industry, animation, and video games certification programs will be not only a game but a game-changer for young people.”

 

Three countries that are investing the most on R&D

In March, money spent on major video games soared from $883 million in February to $1.5 billion, while spending on games played on high-performance personal computers rose 56% to $567 million in the same comparison.

 

Govt recognizes rules on social media expanding PTA powers

Pakistan falls short in terms of producing video games and supplying programmers with opportunities, considering the steady growth in the gaming industry worldwide.

In order to improve the local gaming industry, the new project would provide young people with animation and video game certification programs.

 

The initiative is timely as spending on digital video games reached a record-high $10 billion in March as people stuck at home turned to gaming under coronavirus lockdowns, market tracker SuperData said.
