TECNO has launched the POVA Curve 2 5G in Pakistan, a smartphone that the company describes as being built on a single idea, which is that users should not have to choose between a phone that looks good and a phone that lasts. The device comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM and is priced at PKR 99,999. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor, which is designed for gaming, streaming, multitasking and constant connectivity. TECNO says the phone delivers 90 minutes of stable Free Fire gameplay at 60fps with the help of Ice Cooling 3.0, and that it is TÜV Rheinland certified to stay lag free for six years. It supports 20 5G bands, and TECNO claims up to 100 percent stronger signal in buildings and basements and 60 percent stronger Wi-Fi, both TÜV certified.
The phone packs an 8000mAh battery into a body that is 7.42mm thick and weighs 195g, which TECNO describes as the thinnest phone among those with an 8000mAh battery. According to the company, users can charge the phone every two days, with more than 15 days of standby, and a TÜV certification for extended battery life of more than three days. A 45W wired fast charger takes the phone from empty to full in 82 minutes, while 10W reverse charging and bypass charging are also supported. The battery is built for 2,000 cycles, which the company says is equal to six years of safe use. The display is a curved 144Hz AMOLED panel with peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, together with 16x touch resolution, a 2160Hz instant sampling rate and multi scenario anti mistouch for wet or oily hands.
The design of the POVA Curve 2 5G was inspired by interstellar spaceships and combines flowing lines with a minimalist finish and a symmetrical layout. It has IP64 dust and water resistance, a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display and SGS certified drop resistance from 1.5 meters, and it comes in three colours, Melting Silver, Mystic Purple and Storm Titanium. For photography, it has a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera. TECNO AI features include AI Eraser 2.0 to remove unwanted people, pets and clutter, AI Flare Remover to fix glare and haze, Image to Live to turn still photos into moving ones, and AI Noise Cancellation for calls. The Ella voice assistant offers two way call translation, now supporting WhatsApp, along with WhatsApp summaries and one tap Q and A.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is available across Pakistan from October 15 in the 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM variant at PKR 99,999. TECNO has teamed up with PalmPay for launch day, and buyers who purchase the phone through the instalment service of PalmPay receive PKR 5,000 off. On Daraz, online shoppers can also get PKR 5,000 off the phone with TECNO Fans discount vouchers. With the launch offers in place, customers have two ways to reduce the price of the device during the launch period, through the instalment service or through the vouchers on the online marketplace.
