Tech Valley, the official Canva for Education partner in Pakistan, has launched the country’s first exclusively artificial intelligence-powered Canva for Education training programme in partnership with the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, making the Islamabad Capital Territory region the first in Pakistan to conduct this specialised training for educators from public sector schools under the Federal Directorate of Education. The initiative runs from May 11 to 14, 2026, with Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar attending as chief guest and signing the foundational Letter of Understanding, emphasising the government’s commitment to eliminating the resource gap between public and private sector schools as the central mission driving the programme.

The training is targeting the core pillars of FDE’s educational institutions, specifically school heads and information technology teachers, in a deliberate sequencing strategy that ensures leadership and technical faculty are upskilled first so they can cascade digital competencies through their institutions over time. All federal education institutions across Islamabad participating in the programme are receiving one hundred percent free premium access to Canva for Education, with intensive hands-on workshops centred on Canva’s advanced artificial intelligence suite, Magic Studio, giving educators direct experience with tools that allow them to create visually rich, engaging learning materials without requiring professional design skills. The curriculum goes well beyond basic software training, equipping teachers with frameworks to move students from passive technology consumers to active creators, a distinction that organisers and the ministry both frame as essential preparation for Pakistan’s youth to participate meaningfully in the global digital economy.

A defining structural feature of the programme is the Canva Champion Programme, a train-the-trainer model that certifies master educators from within the FDE system to continue delivering Canva for Education training to colleagues independently after the initial workshop phase concludes. By creating a self-sustaining internal capacity rather than relying on repeated external interventions, the programme is designed to embed digital design and artificial intelligence literacy permanently within Islamabad’s public schools rather than allowing it to fade once the training period ends. The programme is aligned with the FDE Quality Education and Innovation Roadmap and is positioned as Tech Valley’s contribution to bridging the digital divide at the teacher level, on the premise that students cannot benefit from digital tools in the classroom unless the educators guiding them are confident and capable users themselves. Educators and institutions interested in bringing customised Canva for Education training to their campuses can contact Tech Valley at 0333-5306444, hello@techvalley.pk, or through https://lnkd.in/dMNYS6aU.
