Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) has announced the launch of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Karachi, Pakistan, aiming to provide structured support and networking opportunities for local entrepreneurs. Startup Huddle Karachi is part of a global network of more than 60 chapters, connecting founders with mentors, advisers, and peers to help them navigate challenges and build their businesses. The chapter will host its first event in October, offering a recurring platform where founders can present challenges, receive guidance, and engage with a community focused on peer learning and collaboration.
Startup Huddle Karachi is designed to foster connectivity within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, an element GEN research has identified as critical for success. Startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness see an increased number of startups, and founders with strong networks tend to grow revenue twice as fast as those with lower connectivity. Recognizing Karachi’s economic significance, its diverse talent pool, and fast-moving business environment, local organizer Syed Rizwan Ali emphasizes the importance of providing a visible and structured space for founders to interact, gain advice, and access mentorship.
At each Startup Huddle session, entrepreneurs present their business challenges in six-minute presentations, followed by 20-minute discussions with an audience of peers, mentors, educators, and advisers. This format encourages constructive feedback and solution-oriented conversations while allowing new founders to benefit from the experience of previous participants. Over time, the continuous cycle of presenting and mentoring helps strengthen the community, deepen connections, and cultivate a culture of shared learning and collaboration. Startup Huddle Karachi receives support from Business Incubation Center, Bahria University Karachi Campus, and GEN Pakistan. The initiative is structured to help one entrepreneur at a time while simultaneously enhancing the local ecosystem.
