Saudi Arabia has announced its intent to grant citizenship to a select group of scientists, doctors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and other highly skilled individuals. This move aligns with the kingdom’s Vision 2030 program, aiming to build a robust human capital base and attract global expertise.

A royal decree authorizes offering citizenship to exceptional talent in medical, scientific, cultural, sports, and technical fields. This initiative seeks to bolster the kingdom’s economic, health, cultural, sports, and innovation sectors by bringing in prominent experts and specialists.

This isn’t the first time Saudi Arabia has embraced skilled immigration. In December 2021, they granted citizenship to distinguished individuals in these critical fields. This ongoing effort underscores their commitment to leveraging global expertise for development across various sectors.

The move comes alongside Pakistan’s recent agreements with Saudi companies. These agreements, signed in November 2023, aim to strengthen collaboration and facilitate the recruitment of Pakistani professionals for Saudi Arabia’s large-scale projects. The agreements also include plans for training and orientation centers in Pakistan, equipping workers with the necessary skills for the Saudi market.

Overall, Saudi Arabia’s focus on attracting skilled talent demonstrates its commitment to achieving the ambitious goals outlined in Vision 2030.
