The Caretaker Punjab government, led by CM Mohsin Naqvi, has successfully eliminated corruption in the issuance of arms licenses. The process has been transitioned online to ensure transparency under the newly inaugurated Punjab Arms License Management System (PALMS).
The collaboration between the provincial Home Department and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) culminated in the formal inauguration of the PALMS portal by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
This online platform facilitates the renewal of arms licenses across Punjab and provides a convenient mechanism for the online transfer of licenses to heirs. Additionally, PALMS ensures that applicants receive their licenses at their doorstep, further streamlining the entire process.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the implementation of PALMS will lead to the complete eradication of corruption in the arms license issuance process. He commended Home Secretary Mian Shakeel Ahmed and Additional Secretary Home (Judicial) Department Farwa Aamir for their contributions to the launch of the online portal.
The Chief Minister also praised the commendable implementation of the automatic system for issuing arms licenses, with the agreement in this regard signed by the Interior Secretary, Government of Punjab, and DG NADRA. The event witnessed the presence of Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General Nadra Sohail Jahangir, Director Arms Nadra, and other relevant officials.
