Punjab Traffic Police has announced that a province-wide crackdown against motorists with unpaid e-challans will begin on July 1 as part of a stricter traffic enforcement campaign. The initiative is being launched under a zero tolerance policy aimed at improving compliance with traffic regulations and recovering outstanding penalties. Authorities have warned that motorists who fail to clear their pending e-challans may face legal action, including the impounding of their vehicles during roadside inspections.

To strengthen enforcement, traffic police officers across Punjab have been equipped with the Traffic One App, enabling them to instantly verify whether a vehicle has outstanding e-challans during routine checks. The digital system allows officers to access violation records in real time and recover pending dues on the spot where applicable. Motorists are encouraged to check the status of their e-challans through the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s online platform and settle any outstanding fines before the enforcement campaign begins.

According to traffic authorities, vehicles and motorcycles with unpaid e-challans may be taken into custody if owners fail to clear their pending dues. Officials have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary inconvenience by ensuring that all traffic violations are resolved in advance. The campaign forms part of broader efforts to improve road discipline, encourage responsible driving behavior and strengthen compliance with traffic laws through the use of digital enforcement technologies.

The upcoming crackdown reflects Punjab’s continued investment in technology driven traffic management systems that improve transparency and efficiency in law enforcement. By combining digital verification tools with province-wide enforcement, the initiative aims to increase compliance, reduce repeat violations and promote safer roads across the province. Authorities have reiterated that strict action will be taken against all violators without discrimination as part of ongoing efforts to modernize traffic management and enhance public safety.
