The National Database and Registration Authority has released version 5.7.4 of its PakID mobile app, bringing several new features and improvements for citizens. The update continues NADRA’s ongoing effort to expand the functionality of its citizen-facing digital identity platform beyond basic verification and card renewal services.
The new version includes a dedicated Federal Investigation Agency section, built for the future registration and tracking of FIA related complaints directly through the app. NADRA has also simplified the process of adding family members when the Family Registration Certificate contains incomplete family data, addressing a common friction point for users managing family records through the platform.
On the usability side, the update introduces automatic cropping for signatures, allowing users to adjust their signatures more easily during the application process rather than relying on manual cropping. Perhaps the most significant addition, digital versions of Computerized National Identity Cards, National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis, and Pakistan Origin Cards are now available directly through the PakID app, alongside printing and delivery services for physical copies of these documents.
NADRA has invited users to share suggestions for new features they would like to see in upcoming versions of the PakID app, signaling an openness to continued iterative development based on user feedback. The update adds to a broader pattern of NADRA steadily expanding PakID’s capabilities, positioning the app as an increasingly central tool for citizens managing identity documents, family records and now FIA related matters through a single digital platform.
