Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja held discussions with Tareq Amin, CEO of Saudi artificial intelligence company HUMAIN, on the sidelines of LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, exploring potential collaboration between Pakistan and the Saudi AI firm that both sides described as a win-win situation. Khawaja praised the phenomenal work done by HUMAIN in a very short span of time, crediting the leadership of Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and Minister Abdullah Alswaha’s team for the company’s rapid growth.
HUMAIN was established in May 2025 as a full stack AI company owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and chaired by the Crown Prince, with Tareq Amin appointed as CEO shortly after its founding. Under Amin’s leadership, HUMAIN has moved quickly to build out AI infrastructure across four integrated layers, spanning AI infrastructure, AI cloud, data and models, and applications and solutions, positioning itself as the region’s leading AI company through partnerships with major global technology firms.
The company’s rapid expansion has included large scale collaborations with NVIDIA to deploy GB300 AI platforms and build sovereign AI infrastructure, alongside a newly announced partnership with Microsoft to bring HUMAIN’s Arabic language model, ALLAM, into Microsoft Foundry and Microsoft 365 Copilot. HUMAIN has also partnered with AMD to launch a turnkey AI computing solution for Saudi enterprises, and separately announced a national scale collaboration with Applied Intuition to deploy autonomous trucking across Saudi logistics corridors by 2030, reflecting the breadth of the company’s ambitions beyond a single technology vertical.
The meeting between Khawaja and Amin adds to a series of engagements Pakistan’s IT ministry has pursued during LEAP 2026, where the minister has also inaugurated the Tech Destination Pakistan Pavilion and held discussions with National Technology Development Program CEO Ibrahim Neyaz on a broader Pakistan-Saudi Arabia technology and startup exchange programme. With HUMAIN emerging as one of the most closely watched AI companies in the Gulf region, any resulting collaboration with Pakistan would mark a significant addition to the country’s growing list of technology partnerships with Saudi Arabia across AI, cloud computing and digital infrastructure.
