The National Database and Registration Authority and the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education have signed an agreement to integrate the student registration system for Matriculation and Intermediate examinations. Under the agreement, a mutual data exchange mechanism has been established, enabling NADRA to provide FBISE with key student details directly from its registry, including full name, father’s name and date of birth.

The initiative aims to minimize data discrepancies and errors during student registration, while enhancing administrative efficiency through the issuance of accurate and verifiable academic credentials. By pulling verified identity data directly from NADRA’s registry rather than relying on manually submitted information, the system is designed to reduce the kind of registration errors that have historically complicated the issuance of academic records tied to national identity documents.

The partnership also includes the development of a secure Digital Wallet, allowing students to access, store and digitally share their educational certificates. This component extends the agreement beyond registration accuracy alone, giving students a centralized digital repository for academic credentials that can be shared electronically rather than requiring physical copies for verification purposes.

The collaboration forms part of NADRA’s broader initiative to integrate the national identity system with educational records, with the authority progressively working to streamline digital data sharing across secondary and higher secondary education boards, universities and the Higher Education Commission nationwide. The signing ceremony took place at NADRA headquarters in Islamabad, attended by FBISE Chairman Dr. Ikram Ali Malik and the Chairman of NADRA, marking a formal step toward broader integration between Pakistan’s identity and education data systems.
