In 2024, power outages and load shedding continue to be significant challenges for residents across Pakistan, particularly for those who rely on uninterrupted electricity to perform their online work. The frequent power cuts disrupt productivity and can be particularly frustrating for people working from home or conducting business that depends on a steady internet connection. To address this issue, PTCL has introduced a practical solution in the form of an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) backup for internet routers, aiming to offer some relief to those affected by power interruptions.

PTCL’s new UPS system, priced at Rs. 8,000 (inclusive of tax), is designed to provide an additional four hours of power to internet routers during outages. This feature is especially beneficial for individuals who cannot afford the disruptions caused by power cuts, allowing them to maintain a continuous internet connection for extended periods. The UPS also comes with the added advantage of a one-year warranty, ensuring peace of mind for consumers in case the device malfunctions or experiences issues during its operation.

One of the standout features of the PTCL UPS is its compatibility with all fixed-line internet devices. This makes the backup power solution a versatile option for customers using different internet service providers. For example, if you are a Nayatel subscriber and own a Nayatel router, you can still use the PTCL UPS to power it during a blackout. However, it is important to note that the backup duration may vary depending on the specific power requirements of the router. More advanced routers tend to consume more power, which could reduce the time the UPS provides backup power.

The PTCL UPS can be easily purchased by visiting any PTCL or Ufone service center, or alternatively, customers can contact PTCL’s helpline at 1218 for further assistance and information. This new offering by PTCL aims to enhance customer experience by addressing one of the most common and disruptive issues faced by online workers and home-based professionals in the country.

As power interruptions remain a widespread issue, PTCL’s solution serves as an effective way for users to keep their internet connection stable, even when the electricity supply is compromised. With this UPS backup, online workers no longer need to worry about losing valuable time due to unexpected outages.
