Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited and Mercantile Pakistan, Apple’s authorised distributor and service provider in the country, have announced a strategic partnership for the promotion of the Apple MacBook Neo, extending a relationship between the two organisations that has been building steadily over the past year across both consumer and enterprise segments.
The MacBook Neo, Apple’s entry-level laptop positioned below the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, was first announced on March 4, 2026 and released on March 11, 2026, making it the most affordable laptop in Apple’s current lineup at a starting price of 599 US dollars for regular buyers and 499 US dollars under education pricing. In Pakistan, the device is available through Mercantile Resellers at a starting price of PKR 225,000 inclusive of taxes, and is backed by a one-year local warranty, addressing one of the key concerns that has historically made Apple hardware a harder sell in the local market. The MacBook Neo arrives in a lightweight aluminium enclosure and is positioned squarely at students, freelancers, and young professionals looking to enter the Apple ecosystem for the first time.
The PTCL tie-up follows a pattern the two companies have established over the past several months. PTCL previously partnered with Mercantile to launch the iPhone 17 series bundled with Ufone and PTCL Flash Fiber offers across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, providing official devices, extended warranties, insurance coverage, and integrated telecom benefits. The broader strategic relationship between the two organisations was formalised at GITEX Global 2025, where PTCL Group signed an agreement with Mercantile to offer Apple’s complete product range to enterprise customers nationwide, with the deal covering joint go-to-market initiatives, expanded support services, and collaborative promotional campaigns. The MacBook Neo partnership represents the consumer-facing extension of that enterprise-level agreement, bringing bundled connectivity and device offers to a wider retail audience.
Commenting on the broader collaboration, Asif Ahmad, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer at PTCL and Ufone 4G, noted that the partnership adds value by embedding a Device as a Service framework to make enterprise mobility more scalable and financially accessible, while Mercantile Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Nauman Durrani highlighted that Apple products combined with PTCL’s nationwide network can accelerate digitisation across both the consumer and enterprise sectors in Pakistan. With PTCL Flash Fiber continuing to expand its subscriber base and Mercantile deepening its retail and service footprint across the country, the MacBook Neo promotion is expected to serve as a key campaign for both organisations through the remainder of 2026.
