Google has posted new high level vacancies for its Karachi office, marking a notable step in its local operations. The global technology company is currently hiring for three highly specialized, senior level positions based in Karachi, signaling a targeted approach to expanding its enterprise footprint in the country rather than launching a mass engineering recruitment drive.
The available positions focus heavily on business to business sales, corporate strategy and educational contracts. The Account Manager, Technology and Consumer Goods, Large Customer Sales role demands fluency in both Urdu and English, with a focus on digital advertising and business development. The Google for Education Lead position is described as a heavily strategic role, requiring a minimum of 10 years of experience in technology sales. The third opening, Analytical Lead, Planning and Measurement, Large Customer Sales, is a senior analytics position, with Google notably prioritizing applicants who already possess the right to work in Singapore without requiring visa sponsorship.
The opening of these Pakistan based positions does not indicate a large scale local hiring effort, but rather reflects a calculated, gradual expansion strictly focused on large customer sales and government education sectors. The company appears to be seeking experienced professionals capable of managing large corporate portfolios and influencing senior stakeholders, rather than building out a broader local workforce at this stage.
This targeted hiring drive builds on groundwork Google laid several years earlier, having officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan as a foreign company on November 8, 2022, at which point the company established a local liaison office to explore business opportunities and support the country’s technology ecosystem. Nearly four years after that initial registration, these new Karachi based openings represent one of the more direct signals yet of Google building out enterprise level operations within Pakistan, even as the scope remains a gradual, strategic build rather than a broader hiring boom.
