Pakistan Software Export Board, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, is bringing a 72 square metre Pakistan Pavilion to Tokyo Game Show 2026, one of the world’s largest and most influential gaming exhibitions, which draws over 300,000 attendees annually from across the globe. The pavilion will offer 12 spots for Pakistani companies operating in game development, augmented reality, virtual reality, animation, quality assurance, and immersive technology, providing direct access to international publishers, investors, and buyers from the Asia Pacific region and beyond. The application deadline is June 5, 2026, with a subsidised participation fee of PKR 300,000 per company, and applications can be submitted through the official link at lnkd.in/dvyJakZJ.
Tokyo Game Show is held annually in Tokyo and consistently ranks among the most significant gathering points for the global gaming industry, attracting major publishers, platform holders, developers, and media from Japan, Asia, and international markets. For Pakistani gaming and animation companies targeting Japan and the broader Asia Pacific region, participation at this scale, under a nationally branded pavilion supported by Pakistan Software Export Board and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, represents an opportunity that would be difficult and considerably more expensive to access independently. The structured, subsidised nature of the participation lowers the barrier for export-ready companies to make a credible first impression in one of the world’s most competitive and sophisticated gaming markets.
Eligibility for the 12 available spots is limited to companies that are export-ready, active members of Pakistan Software Export Board, and specifically targeting Japan and Asia Pacific markets through their growth strategies. The focus on these criteria reflects Pakistan Software Export Board’s intent to ensure that the pavilion delivers substantive business outcomes rather than serving as a promotional exercise, with participating companies expected to arrive with a clear pitch for international publishers, investors, and buyers rather than simply gaining exposure. Pakistan’s gaming and animation industry has been developing steadily over the past several years, with a growing number of studios delivering work for international clients across mobile gaming, console titles, and digital animation, and the Tokyo Game Show pavilion represents one of the most prominent international stages on which that emerging industry has been given an opportunity to present itself to the world. Companies meeting the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply before the June 5 deadline as spots are limited.
