Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) has partnered with APIGA Pakistan to jointly foster youth leadership in internet governance and digital policy development. The collaboration aims to create a platform where young professionals, students, and emerging voices in the technology sector can understand and influence the frameworks shaping Pakistan’s digital future. This partnership represents a shared commitment to bridging the gap between technology and policy, ensuring that the next generation is not just a beneficiary of the internet but also a stakeholder in how it evolves.

Under this partnership, both organizations will work together to design capacity-building programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities for students and young professionals interested in internet governance and ICT policy. The initiative focuses on enhancing digital literacy, promoting responsible internet use, and encouraging young people to take part in decision-making processes related to data governance, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion. By engaging youth in these critical conversations, P@SHA and APIGA Pakistan seek to nurture a new generation of leaders who understand the intersection of technology, ethics, and public policy.

Officials from both sides noted that the partnership aligns with Pakistan’s growing need for informed voices in the global internet governance landscape. With the rise of digital platforms and policy reforms affecting online privacy, content regulation, and data protection, it has become increasingly important for local youth to engage with international frameworks such as ICANN, IGF, and ITU. Through this collaboration, participants will gain exposure to global best practices and learn how to adapt them to Pakistan’s evolving digital ecosystem. P@SHA’s involvement brings strong industry expertise, while APIGA Pakistan contributes its experience in capacity-building and advocacy for youth participation in digital policymaking.

By combining technical insight with policy awareness, the initiative intends to establish a sustained dialogue among academia, industry, and civil society. It will encourage a more inclusive approach to decision-making in Pakistan’s technology sector—where innovation is guided not only by technical progress but also by ethical and societal considerations. The collaboration also reflects the broader national goal of developing a digitally empowered society where young people are equipped to address challenges and opportunities emerging from the global digital economy.

The partnership between P@SHA and APIGA Pakistan symbolizes a step forward in connecting Pakistan’s IT industry with youth-driven digital policy movements. By fostering learning, dialogue, and advocacy, the two organizations aim to strengthen Pakistan’s representation in global discussions on internet governance while inspiring young leaders to contribute to shaping an inclusive, resilient, and responsible digital future.
