Pakistan Software Export Board has completed a Soft Skills Training cohort for information technology professionals in Islamabad under the Tech Destination Pakistan initiative, supported by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. The programme was delivered in collaboration with Liaison Corporation Private Limited and brought together IT professionals eager to build the communication, leadership, and interpersonal capabilities that are increasingly recognised as essential for success in global technology workplaces.
The cohort was structured around interactive team-building exercises, practical learning sessions, and group discussions designed to move beyond theoretical instruction and give participants hands-on experience applying the skills being taught. Areas covered during the programme included leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional growth, with the sessions aimed at helping participants develop a deeper understanding of how these competencies translate into real workplace scenarios across diverse and often cross-cultural professional environments. The format encouraged participants to engage with peers, share experiences, and develop new perspectives on how soft skills shape individual performance and collective team outcomes in the technology sector.
The programme reflects a growing recognition within Pakistan’s information technology industry that technical capability alone is no longer a sufficient differentiator for professionals seeking to compete in global markets. As Pakistani IT firms expand their client bases internationally and as remote and hybrid working models bring Pakistani developers and engineers into direct collaboration with counterparts across Europe, North America, and the Gulf, the ability to communicate clearly, lead effectively, work across teams, and navigate professional relationships with confidence has become a material factor in career growth and business development outcomes. PSEB’s investment in structured soft skills development for IT graduates and professionals is therefore not a peripheral initiative but a strategic one, aimed at making Pakistan’s technology workforce more competitive and more capable of sustaining the long-term client relationships that underpin IT export growth.
The Tech Destination Pakistan initiative, backed by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and implemented through PSEB, continues to expand its offerings to address the full spectrum of capability needs within the information technology sector, from technical skills and certification support to the professional development programmes that help transform capable engineers and developers into well-rounded digital professionals. The Islamabad soft skills cohort is part of that broader effort to build a workforce that is ready not just to write code, but to lead teams, manage clients, and represent Pakistan’s technology sector with confidence on the world stage.
