PASHA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Technology Council Pakistan on June 19, with the signing ceremony hosted by Imperial College of Business Studies in Lahore, formalising a three-way collaboration between industry, academia, and government institutions aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s technology talent pipeline and professional recognition frameworks in emerging fields.
The agreement was signed by Sajjad Syed, Chairman of PASHA, and Lieutenant General Retired Moazzam Ejaz, Chairman of the National Technology Council, in the presence of PASHA Vice Chairman Raheel Iqbal, whose efforts were specifically acknowledged as instrumental in advancing the collaboration to the point of a formal signing. Munawar Ahmad, Chairman of Imperial College of Business Studies, and distinguished representatives from academia and industry also attended the ceremony. Lieutenant General Retired Moazzam Ejaz and Munawar Ahmad presented commemorative souvenirs to Sajjad Syed and Raheel Iqbal in recognition of their contributions to Pakistan’s technology ecosystem.
The partnership is structured to bridge the gap between the information technology industry, higher education institutions, and government stakeholders, a gap that has long been cited as one of the primary reasons why Pakistan’s technology graduates enter the workforce with skills misaligned from what employers actually require. By bringing PASHA’s industry perspective together with the National Technology Council’s government and policy reach and the academic environment of institutions such as Imperial College of Business Studies, the collaboration is designed to create more coherent pathways for talent development and more credible professional recognition for qualifications in emerging technology disciplines.
The agreement adds to a growing list of formal partnerships PASHA has established with academic institutions in recent weeks, including similar memoranda signed with Bahria University, reflecting a sustained strategic effort by the association to place industry engagement at the centre of how Pakistan’s technology education ecosystem evolves. For the National Technology Council, the partnership with PASHA provides a direct channel to one of Pakistan’s most established technology industry associations, enabling the council to align its policy and standards work more closely with the commercial realities and talent requirements of the sector it is designed to support.
