Pakistan IT Industry Association has joined Clean Web Day 2026 as its Industry Partner, lending its support to a global online event focused on building a cleaner, safer, and more trustworthy internet. PASHA, Pakistan’s representative trade body for the information technology sector, has positioned its involvement as part of its broader commitment to advancing secure and trusted digital experiences across the country’s growing technology ecosystem.
Clean Web Day 2026 is powered by SEO Repair Kit, a web health and search optimisation platform, with the initiative led by Toronto Digits. The event is scheduled to take place on July 9 as a free online session running from 6 PM to 10 PM Pakistan Standard Time, bringing together developers, marketers, business owners, and everyday internet users to address a growing set of problems affecting the reliability of the web, including toxic backlinks, artificial intelligence generated junk content, phishing scams, bot traffic, and fake engagement across websites and search platforms.
Organisers behind the initiative have cited data showing that nearly half of all email traffic today consists of spam, more than half of overall web traffic is now generated by bots rather than humans, and phishing related breaches cost businesses an average of close to five million dollars per incident, underscoring the scale of the problem the event aims to address. The agenda for the day includes sessions covering the fundamentals of web spam and search engine optimization, the ethics of preventing scam networks from manipulating search rankings, live audits performed on real websites to demonstrate common problems and fixes, and practical guidance on shielding websites from bots and phishing attacks. A dedicated session will also focus on email spam trends heading into the latter half of 2026, along with strategies for identifying and blocking unwanted messages before they reach inboxes.
Alongside Pakistan IT Industry Association, Clean Web Day 2026 has attracted a mix of industry partners spanning web development firms, hosting providers, WordPress focused communities, and digital marketing organisations, including WPExperts, TezHost, and Google Developer Groups, among others. Organisers said more than two hundred marketers, developers, and founders have already registered to participate in the initiative, with many pledging dedicated hours toward auditing and cleaning up websites as part of the coordinated global push. The event closes with a community driven challenge encouraging participants to audit their own websites live and share their findings, and also includes free access to auditing tools designed to help website owners identify harmful backlinks and detect spam traffic without incurring additional costs.
By joining as an Industry Partner, Pakistan IT Industry Association adds its voice to a growing international conversation around web health and online trust, an area increasingly relevant to Pakistan’s expanding digital economy as more businesses and service providers move core operations online. Interested participants can register for a free ticket through the event’s official website ahead of the July 9 session.
