Pakistan is preparing to host Indus AI Week 2026, a government led initiative designed to strengthen national capacity in artificial intelligence while building sustained collaboration with international stakeholders. The week long programme will serve as a structured platform to discuss policy direction, innovation frameworks and practical implementation of AI across multiple sectors. The event reflects the country’s growing focus on technology driven development and the role of emerging technologies in public and private sector transformation.

The programme will formally begin with the Indus AI Summit on February 9, 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. The summit is expected to bring together policymakers, international experts, technology leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs and youth from across Pakistan and abroad. Discussions during the opening summit will focus on defining a strategic direction for artificial intelligence adoption, with an emphasis on responsible use, capacity building and alignment with national development priorities. By convening decision makers and practitioners on a single platform, the summit aims to facilitate informed dialogue around regulatory frameworks, institutional readiness and cross border cooperation in AI related fields.

Throughout Indus AI Week, sessions and engagements will highlight the application of artificial intelligence across governance, education, industry and public services. Government representatives and subject specialists are expected to explore how AI can support data driven decision making in public administration, improve service delivery and enhance transparency. In the education sector, conversations are likely to address curriculum modernization, skills development and the preparation of future talent for an AI enabled economy. Industry focused discussions will examine productivity gains, automation, innovation ecosystems and the role of startups in translating research into scalable solutions, while public service use cases will consider how intelligent systems can support healthcare, urban planning and citizen engagement.

The initiative also places a strong emphasis on youth participation, recognizing the importance of engaging students, early career professionals and young innovators in shaping the future of artificial intelligence in Pakistan. By providing access to global experts and exposure to policy level conversations, Indus AI Week is positioned as an opportunity to inspire talent and encourage long term involvement in technology development. The presence of international participants further underscores the intent to situate Pakistan within broader global AI conversations and foster partnerships that extend beyond the event itself.

Indus AI Week 2026 underscores Pakistan’s commitment to positioning itself as a serious contributor to global AI innovation and technology driven growth. As governments worldwide increasingly prioritize artificial intelligence as a strategic asset, this platform reflects an effort to align national ambitions with global trends while addressing local needs. Through sustained dialogue, collaboration and knowledge exchange, the week long programme aims to support a coherent approach to AI adoption that benefits governance, economic development and society at large.
