Pakistan’s National Artificial Intelligence Advancement Initiative (NAAI) is set to receive new digital and office equipment as the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) moves to strengthen the infrastructure supporting the country’s artificial intelligence related projects. The equipment is intended to provide the initiative with additional computing, printing, scanning, and presentation capabilities needed to support its ongoing and future activities.
According to the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by MoITT, the ministry plans to purchase a range of equipment for the NAAI project, with the procurement divided into four separate lots. The lots cover 19 laptops, printing and scanning equipment, a photocopier, a multimedia projector, and four 75 inch LED displays, together forming the office and digital infrastructure the ministry says is required to support NAAI’s activities going forward. The procurement forms part of the government’s broader efforts to advance the country’s artificial intelligence capabilities and improve the operational capacity of the initiative.
MoITT has specified that all equipment supplied under the procurement must be new and completely free of defects, with the ministry also requiring that all items come with manufacturer warranties. The procurement requirements additionally include installation arrangements and after sales support for the supplied equipment, ensuring that the hardware remains functional and serviceable once deployed within the NAAI’s operations.
MoITT has invited eligible suppliers to participate in the procurement process, with bids required to be submitted through the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority’s electronic procurement system, alongside hard copies. According to the RFP, bids must be submitted by 11:00 am on August 25, 2026, with the bids scheduled to be opened at 11:30 am on the same day. The procurement adds to a series of recent government efforts aimed at building out the infrastructure and institutional capacity needed to support Pakistan’s growing focus on artificial intelligence, following a broader pattern of ministries and public bodies investing in equipment and systems to back ongoing digital and AI related initiatives across the country.
