The Sindh government has decided to introduce artificial intelligence into the recruitment and examination system of the Sindh Public Service Commission, with officials planning to use the technology to make examinations more efficient while reducing unnecessary human intervention in the process. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, where officials discussed the broader use of artificial intelligence and other modern technologies across the province’s public service examination process.
According to the Chief Secretary, artificial intelligence will specifically be used in preparing question papers, along with assessment and examination data management. By automating these functions, the government expects the technology to improve the overall efficiency of the examination process while limiting the degree of manual involvement traditionally required at various stages of paper preparation and result compilation.
As part of the broader initiative, the province will also establish technology equipped workstations across Sindh, providing candidates with access to modern examination facilities designed to support the shift toward more digitally administered testing. These workstations are expected to give candidates a more standardized and technologically consistent experience when sitting for public service examinations, regardless of their specific testing location within the province.
The government has indicated plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence beyond the Public Service Commission in later stages of the initiative. According to the Chief Secretary, the technology will eventually be introduced across educational boards, as well as other examinations and recruitment processes conducted throughout the province, suggesting a broader institutional push toward integrating artificial intelligence into Sindh’s public sector testing and hiring infrastructure over time.
