Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem is set to mark a major milestone with the launch of the Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF), a flagship initiative of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT) executed by Ignite – National Technology Fund. The official launch is scheduled for October 31, 2025, at the National Incubation Center (NIC) Islamabad. Positioned as a key step toward strengthening the country’s entrepreneurial infrastructure, PSF aims to bridge the gap between innovative ideas and investors, creating a thriving environment where startups can access vital support without giving up equity.

The fund is designed to empower early-stage startups across Pakistan by providing them with equity-free grants, mentorship, and strategic exposure to both local and global investors. By linking founders with potential financiers, PSF seeks to attract greater private investment into the startup ecosystem while reducing the barriers that new businesses face in securing capital. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to create sustainable growth in the technology and innovation sectors, ensuring that Pakistan’s emerging entrepreneurs have the resources needed to compete in a fast-evolving global market. Through this platform, MoITT and Ignite aim to not only nurture talent but also drive economic progress by strengthening startup-led innovation and employment generation.

According to Ignite, the fund’s structure is tailored to foster long-term investor confidence and encourage local venture capital participation. It will act as a catalyst for collaborations between Pakistani startups and international partners by offering financial backing and technical support where needed. The involvement of NIC Islamabad as the host venue also highlights the central role of the national incubation network in accelerating innovation, serving as a hub for startup growth and capacity building. By launching PSF at NIC, the government signals its commitment to leveraging public innovation infrastructure to deliver tangible results for entrepreneurs across the country.

The Pakistan Startup Fund promises to transform how innovation is supported in Pakistan, with a focus on transparency, inclusivity, and measurable outcomes. By empowering startups and attracting investors, PSF aims to reshape the national innovation landscape and make Pakistan a more competitive destination for technology-driven ventures. The initiative builds on the success of Ignite’s previous projects, including the National Incubation Centers and digital skills programs, ensuring continuity in the government’s digital transformation agenda. As Pakistan’s innovation story continues to unfold, PSF is expected to become a cornerstone of support for entrepreneurs seeking to bring their ideas to life and scale them globally.
