MariEnergies recently hosted a dedicated session focused on women in STEM, featuring mentors from the TechWomen program, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State. The session served as a learning and networking platform for women working in technical roles, highlighting the value of global mentorship and leadership development through the TechWomen fellowship. Participants were introduced to the goals and structure of the program, and gained insight into how it fosters cross-cultural exchange and empowers women to lead in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The TechWomen initiative connects emerging women leaders in STEM from across the globe with professionals in the United States for a structured mentorship and exchange program. During the session at MariEnergies, mentors who have participated in the program shared their personal experiences, offering practical perspectives on how the fellowship has influenced their professional growth and strengthened their roles in technical and leadership capacities. These accounts provided valuable encouragement for attendees who are exploring international exposure and growth in tech-driven careers.

The event aimed to demystify the TechWomen application process, giving participants a better understanding of how to engage with the opportunity and what to expect throughout the program. From selection and orientation to mentorship placement and cultural exchange, the session covered every stage of the TechWomen journey. For many of the attendees, this was their first close-up view of how global programs like TechWomen can contribute to building more inclusive and equitable technology ecosystems by investing in female talent.

MariEnergies facilitated this platform to encourage dialogue around gender diversity in technology and strengthen the community of women working in STEM fields within Pakistan. The presence of TechWomen mentors helped build trust and inspire confidence among participants, many of whom are early to mid-career professionals seeking to advance their skillsets and networks. The session also helped spotlight the broader importance of mentorship and representation in shaping career trajectories for women in technology.

Participants engaged in interactive discussions, asked questions about balancing technical responsibilities with leadership growth, and learned how to leverage international mentorship to solve real-world challenges. The conversation also touched on the ripple effect of programs like TechWomen, where returning fellows serve as mentors and leaders within their own communities, thereby multiplying the impact.

By organizing this session, MariEnergies reiterated its commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the tech space. The event reflected how institutions can play a proactive role in creating awareness about global opportunities and helping women navigate them successfully. With growing momentum around inclusion in STEM, platforms like these remain critical in connecting talent with resources, networks, and pathways to leadership.
